Improved Search Functionality in our QuickBooks App Store

We’re excited to announce that we’ve launched a new search engine on the QuickBooks App Store that will help customers find the apps that are just right for them and their small businesses. Whether they are searching from the Apps tab inside QuickBooks Online or on the web at Apps.com, searching for the right app is now easier and more accurate.

The new search engine will crawl through all the details on your app’s profile page (excluding user reviews).

Now when customers search for apps on the QuickBooks App Store (both at Apps.com or from the Apps tab inside QuickBooks Online), they are presented with a dropdown list of top results, and with one click they can see all results easily.

We hope you’ll agree that this new search engine is a dramatic improvement over the previous one, which limited search to the app title, tagline, and short description. The new search engine crawls through all the details on your app’s profile page (excluding user reviews).

    When I do searches I’m seeing some apps coming up multiple times. I think this started after you switched to the new search engine. Is this supposed to be happening?

    For example, do a search for “time” in the search box and an app comes up #1 and @2. That seems like a bug.
