TLS 1.2: YOU MAY NEED TO MAKE UPDATES TO YOUR APP(S) NOW
Please make sure your application(s) is upgraded to TLS 1.2 on or before September 20, 2018. On that date, Intuit will be deprecating TLS 1.0 and 1.1. If you have not upgraded to TLS 1.2, your app will not be able to access the QuickBooks Accounting API, QuickBooks Payments API or QBMS Payments API.
- Please make sure your application is upgraded to TLS 1.2 before September 20, 2018 so there is no interruption for you or your customers.

MINOR VERSIONS
QBO APIs are versioned and have a monthly release where new features and bug fixes are made available in the form of minor versions. Minor versions are used in an API request as a URL query parameter and this value should be updated after each release. If you’re not using this API feature, you’re missing out on all the latest deeds. For example, Inventory Management is available only for minor version 4 and greater.
Minor Version 30 was just released and includes all minor versions 1-29 and also includes new preferences to determine if a company is graduity enabled.

QUICKBOOKS ONLINE API BEST PRACTICES

- Error Messages: Our API teams are working hard to improve API error messages to make them more descriptive so developers can take action.
- Check out some of the common error messages and how to handle them. This list includes common causes and preventive tips to help you proactively mitigate these common errors in your app.
- Webhooks: Webhooks are notification based events that Intuit servers send to app servers to notify of changes in subscribed entities. Once a webhook is received, the app should subsequently make an API call for the entity and the specified ID from the webhook body. More information on how to enable webhooks can be found here.

QUICKBOOKS APP STORE INSIGHTS – WHAT ARE CUSTOMERS LOOKING FOR WHEN SEARCHING FOR APPS?

- Search is important! 43% of site visitors use search boxes based on a Forrester research study and this echoes what we see happening on the QuickBooks App Store. All the more reason you need to make sure the meta tags on your app listing are relevant and effective.
- Reviews matter! Customers rely on each other to recommend and evaluate apps. Not surprisingly, customers sometimes go straight to reviews before deep diving on an app. Learn how to ask your customers to review your application.
