"Giving Tuesday" is an opportunity to "give back"

Today, Dec. 1, is “Giving Tuesday,” an annual day to give back and make a difference to millions of people who need support.

There are a lot of ways to give back, right in your own community and across the world. Just recently, for example, the top QuickBooks® Solutions Provider Partner of the Year Award went to Marjorie Adams of Fourlane, but behind the scenes, her business recently organized a community effort for a nursing home in their Austin, Texas, community to send handwritten letters to each resident.

In the spirit of the holiday season, here are a few suggestions on how you and your team can give back – and make a difference:

  • Interested in starting a volunteer/charity program for your company? You can explore your options at GuideStar, a database that connects you with nonprofits of your choosing.
  • One of Intuit’s app developer partners, G1VE, offers a way for QuickBooks Online users to incorporate a planned giving program for their businesses.
  • Discover local ways to give through your local United Way. You can easily locate your closest United Way to your community and support a local organization.
  • Find a local Food Bank and volunteer a few hours a week, or organize a community food drive.

Intuit® wishes everyone a joyous season, and whether it’s holiday time or another time of the year, remember that those less fortunate always need our help.
