Accountants have been helping people understand the complexities of finance for hundreds of years. LiveFlow believes this is one of the many reasons that accountants are the backbone of financial advisory services for businesses today, and they’ve been helping accountants succeed in their efforts for the past three years.
“LiveFlow is the most flexible solution for automating QuickBooks Online reports and consolidating financials. Used by fractional CFOs, controllers, accountants, business owners, and finance teams, LiveFlow turns your static Google Sheets or Excel spreadsheets into live, up-to-date FP&A dashboards with the click of a button,” says co-founder and COO Anita Koimur.
LiveFlow’s financial reporting software is used by thousands of accounting firms and continually receives glowing reviews. Even so, when the app company learned about the Intuit Developer Growth Program during QuickBooks Connect 2023, Koimur says the program—which is designed to help app companies maximize their marketing impact, connect with more customers, and increase their app revenue—presented the perfect opportunity to learn best practices and grow alongside their peers in the QuickBooks ecosystem.
“The value and insight we’ve gained from participating in the program exceeded our expectations,” Koimur says.
Today we’re excited to share the details of LiveFlow’s experience. It echoes the experiences of other participating developers, including Helm, Asset Accountant, Re-Leased, Genius Sheets, Syft Analytics, Buildertrend, Katana, Uncat, Client Hub, A2X, ApprovalMax, VERIFYiQ, Dext, Knowify, Bookkeep, NiceJob and Capsule CRM.
The story behind LiveFlow
Founded in 2021, LiveFlow rose from the ashes of startup failures.
“The idea behind LiveFlow came to us after prior startup attempts failed. We were horrible at managing finances and lacked an easy way to get a real-time overview of our financials. We did not feel in control of our money,” Koimur says.
Before joining forces to create LiveFlow, Koimur and fellow founder Lasse Kalkar worked together at Revolut. What they learned there is that even large companies with big finance teams struggle with the inefficiencies of manual financial reporting.
Says Koimur, “It became so clear that people spending weeks manually updating financial reports is a waste of time. So we founded LiveFlow to help people around the world build better businesses by automating their tedious, time-consuming, and manual financial workflows.”
Fast forward to today, and LiveFlow boasts thousands of customers, numerous awards, and the ability to save businesses 25 hours per month on consolidation–with a median customer support response time that’s under two minutes.
So, what exactly does LiveFlow provide?
- Automated reporting with fast, digestible reports for clients or stakeholders.
- Live consolidation to recover multiple days in the month with advanced data consolidation.
- Real-time connection of QuickBooks to Google Sheets or Excel to sync reports in real time.
- Impactful dashboards in Google Sheets that can be shared with clients and stakeholders.
- 100+ ready-to-use reporting templates that are customizable.
Available in the QuickBooks App Store, LiveFlow has earned over 250 five-star reviews from its users.
One reviewer writes: “LiveFlow has streamlined consolidation of our financials with corresponding increase in quality and decrease in effort. They provided necessary support throughout the journey, and you felt they wanted us to succeed—we succeed/they succeed mentality. Would highly recommend any day and to anyone.”
Another reviewer says: “Highly recommend this app if you are looking to retrieve real-time data and put it in a comprehensive/visual dashboard. This is the best program I have come across and enjoy using it daily. The customer support and onboarding teams are just as great!”
Breaking down the Developer Growth Program benefits
Koimur describes the insights she and her team received during the Developer Growth Program as invaluable.
“Getting full-scope feedback and critique from teams representing marketing, design, engineering, and accounting has been crucial for making various improvements and changes to our workflow and product,” she says.
In addition to working directly with the Intuit team to gain access to assets in the Intuit marketing portal, Developer Growth Program participants benefit from expert reviews of their applications. Here’s what Koimur has to say about them:
Experience Design (XD) review: “The XD feedback allowed us to see our workflow and the aesthetics of the user experience with fresh eyes. This has been crucial for our product iteration and launching new tools for our platform!”
Architecture review: “The architectural review reaffirmed our resolve to conform with industry best practices for security and helped us better understand the source of some unusual errors. It also pointed us to helpful preference fields to control the user experience in our application to be more consistent with the language and configurations inside QuickBooks Online.”
App companies profit from the Developer Growth Program
At Intuit, we believe that every app company that participates in the Developer Growth Program profits from the experience. Koimur agrees, noting that the program offers insight, community, and action.
“This is an environment that apps and startups thrive in,” she says. “The opportunity to dive so deeply into our app with the direct perspective of QuickBooks Online has been eye-opening for us.”
She adds: “From day one, access to various resources on the Intuit side was big for us—an immediate game changer. Going in, we knew that this sort of access would be one of the most valuable aspects of participating in the program.”
