Announcing the launch of Premium APIs

The Intuit Developer team has made four highly anticipated premium APIs—Projects, Custom Fields, Sales Tax, and Time API with Payroll Compensation—available to developers in the United States who are subscribed to the Gold and Platinum tiers of the Intuit App Partner Program. These new APIs are designed to enhance the functionality of your app, providing you with access to richer features and a deeper integration with QuickBooks Online and Intuit Enterprise Suite. You can learn more about the Intuit App Partner Program here.

What can I do with the new APIs?

In the section below, we provide an overview of the features you’ll have access to with these new APIs, along with links to relevant information for each one.

Projects API

In QuickBooks Online Plus, Advanced, and Intuit Enterprise Suite, our customers can create projects and track their profitability. We’re pleased to tell you that this same feature will be available via the Projects API.

How do I start using these APIs?

Partners subscribed to the Gold and Platinum tiers can request access to all of these APIs today. Partners subscribed to the Silver Tier can also request access to the Projects and Sales Tax APIs. To request access, submit a ticket here. For faster routing, select the Product ‘QuickBooks Online’ and the Category ‘New API access’. Our team will review each request and onboard eligible apps within a week.

To confirm your subscription, sign in to your account on the Intuit Developer Portal, navigate to your Workspace of choice here, and select the “Billing and Subscription” tab. From the Billing and Subscription page, confirm the partner tier you’ve subscribed to, or take steps to subscribe and upgrade to Gold or Platinum.

Note: If you can’t see the Billing and Subscription page, it’s because you provided a company address that’s outside the United States. You’ll be able to subscribe and request an upgrade once the Intuit App Partner Program is available internationally.

What if I still have questions?

In August, we will host office hours sessions that focus on these new APIs. We encourage you to try the APIs first and then bring your questions to the office hours session where we can address them in real-time. To sign up for upcoming office hours, go to the “Webinars and Office Hours” section of the Intuit Developer Support page here.

Thank you for being a valued member of our developer community. We can’t wait to see what you build with these new APIs!

Editors’ Note: An earlier version of this article indicated that only Gold and Platinum tier partners were eligible to request access to the premium APIs listed. Silver Tier partners are eligible to request access to the Projects API and Sales Tax API. The article has been updated to reflect this correction.
